About the Department
Learn how big data is driving organizational change and essential analytical tools and techniques, including data mining and PageRank algorithms. Big data is a combination of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data collected by organizations that can be mined for information and used in machine learning projects, predictive modeling, and other advanced analytics applications.
Objectives
- To explore techniques and tools for interpreting and analyzing large volumes of data.
- To study and analyze different hardware architectures in Big Data environments.
- To analyze and understand different strategies for cleaning, modeling, and analyzing data from the Big Data perspective.
- To learn security and privacy techniques applied to Big Data.
- To learn about real problems where the problem of large volumes of data is present, especially in Bioinformatics.

Requirement
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree with CGPA > 2.50/4.00 OR 3.0-3.5/5.00
