About Program
In our Department of Cinema and Television, guided by leading scholars and practitioners, you will explore the history of cinema and television, consider theoretical perspectives, appreciate how films are made, and engage in practical film-making activities. The program explores screen media texts, producers, and audiences, and also gives students a solid grounding in film and television industries and production, history, aesthetics, and reception. As well as being trained in scholarly investigation and critical thinking, you will work collaboratively in groups and develop skills relevant to a range of careers in the media and cinema industry. Throughout your studies, you will encounter a range of film and television professionals and will be able to acquire the necessary work experience through work placements. We believe that you will learn the creativity necessary to enter the film and television industries with a freshness of approach both to changing technologies and the cinematic ideas that they embrace.

Jobs directly related to your degree include film director, film/video editor, lighting technician, location manager, program researcher, sound technician, television/film/video producer, and television production manager.

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of five (5) credits, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE).
