Description

The CIU Dentistry program education covers the sub-departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Pediatric Dentistry, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Prosthetic Dentistry, and Restorative Dentistry. The Faculty’s qualified academic staff trains students in laboratories that incorporate the latest developments of modern technology in order to gain the necessary hand skills and clinical competencies during their education.



The Faculty of Dentistry aims to become a leading faculty in public health, which trains qualified Dentists who can reach information by using science and technology at the highest level, being inquisitive, having ethical values, and implementing the knowledge and skills to apply in the health sector.



Students who will graduate from this program with the title of "Dentist" can work as a dentist in their own clinics, or they can work in various hospitals or polyclinics. In addition, there are options for specialization or doctorate in the departments that make up the dentistry program. After specialization or doctorate education, they can continue as lecturers at universities. In addition, they can work in hospitals and polyclinics under the Ministry of Health. They can also take part in the product development departments of companies producing dental medical supplies. 

Requirement

  • Completed application form,
  • Higher/Secondary Certificate or equivalents (e.g. O/A’Level, WAEC/NECO)
  • Evidence of English Language competence: TOEFL (65 IBT) or IELTS (5.5). Students without these documents will take the CIU English proficiency exam on campus following arrival,
  • Scanned copy of international passport/birth certificate,
  • Fully completed and signed CIU Rules and Regulations document (which can be downloaded during the online application).

 

Structure

Dentistry program education covers the sub-departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Pediatric Dentistry, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Prosthetic Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry. Before the clinical sciences program, students are given training in the phantom patient simulation laboratory with models and advanced equipment.
