Requirement
- Hold a Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) with a GPA of 5.0 or higher, or
- Have a Bachelor Honours degree (AQF Level 8) Class IIB, or
- Demonstrate qualifications/professional research experience equivalent to the above standards approved by the Research Degrees Committee.
Prior study must be in a relevant discipline area. Candidates lacking research methodology preparation may need to undertake a specified course. Additional requirements, such as a Bachelor degree in the relevant discipline, professional registration, or years of professional practice, may apply. English language proficiency must meet the University's requirements.

Structure
The Master of Education by Research at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) is a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program that emphasizes original research leading to a thesis or thesis and exegesis. Throughout the program, candidates achieve various milestones related to research training, program requirements, and candidature progression. These milestones ensure regular review, feedback, and alignment with the University's Research Graduate Attributes.
In addition to HDR program milestones, candidates may have project milestones and scholarship conditions. Coursework may be included based on discussions with the proposed supervisor prior to applying.
