Description
The Master's programme Data-driven Design (MDDD) is for those who want to harness the power of data, machine learning, and AI to augment the design process. To use these technologies to create value for users and create innovative concepts for a continuously changing society. This one-year programme is an intersection of (UX) design research, human-AI interaction, media studies, psychology, and data science. It will prepare you for a fast-paced professional environment and how to shape the future–translating society's needs into concepts of tomorrow.
The programme is divided into four ten-week blocks, during which you will follow workshops and lectures from each of our five learning tracks:
1. Human AI Interaction
2. Ethical Design
3. Data Science
4. Applied Research
5. Critical Thinking and Data Studies
Requirement
It is advisable that aspiring students have the following competencies:
Some experience with a programming language
Some experience with basic design programmes or design thinking
Proof of English proficiency documentation.
Some international students are granted exemption from the English language test:
Students who have obtained a Bachelor diploma in the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia.
Students with an accredited international American or British Bachelor Diploma.
For Chinese students, it is obligatory to present an IELTS or TOEFL test result. Since you’ll need this for your Nuffic certificate which is mandatory for your visa application at IND (Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service).
Structure
The programme was designed for ambitious bachelor graduates of Communication and Media Design (CMD), Creative Business, Journalism and, ICT. Graduates of these or similar programmes are eligible to start the Master if they follow the steps of the admission procedure. Students from other bachelor backgrounds are accepted if they have the proper skills and motivations to pursue a master’s degree in Data-driven Design. Without proof of your English language skills and the coding assignment and motivation letter, you’re not admissible to this master’s programme.
