Basic knowledge in engineering, mathematics, and physics is recommended. Previous exposure to these subjects will facilitate the transition into the program.

Structure

The Automotive Engineering program at TU Berlin consists of technical and teacher training components:

  • Core Subject: 90 LP (including a 10 LP bachelor’s thesis)
  • Secondary Subject: 60 LP
  • Teacher Training: 30 LP, including 11 LP in education, 7 LP in subject-specific teaching methodology, 7 LP in teaching methodology in the secondary subject, and 5 LP in German as a second language/language acquisition

A proposed course schedule is available to guide students through the six-semester program.

Fees

TU Berlin semester/student fee - the fee is around € 310  and includes public transport in Berlin. The fees do not include such expenses as books, the compulsory German language course (approx. € 100 per semester), stationery, meals, healthcare insurance, visa and accommodation. In case that a field trip should be taking place during the second semester, this will require an own share of a maximum € 200 per student.
