Description
The degree is part of the European Higher Education Area and deals with the teaching and study of linguistic, literary and cultural phenomena in general, related to English. Emphasis is placed not only on oral and written communication, the study of various cultural and communicative discourses, but also on the broad relationship of such phenomena in the linguistic community in which English is used as a national, international or second language. The tradition of the Spanish University in the field of Anglicistics, which has trained several generations in the corresponding subjects over time, has been adapted to current needs both in content and in concepts of method and dissemination of knowledge.
Requirement
At least five GCSE/IGCSE subjects (Grade C and above), and three A Levels (Grades A–E), with a minimum of 48 UCAS 2017 Tariff points.
The Bachelor's Degree in French Studies are exempt from language accreditation to obtain the Graduate degree, as approved by the Governing Council of the University of Granada.
Structure
The Bachelor's Degree in English Studies consists of 240 credits in four academic years of basic (general) training, in which the following will be consolidated:
Mastery of the English language
Knowledge of English-language literature
The diachronic and synchronic study of the English language
English Cultural Studies
Applied linguistics for teaching English as a foreign language
In addition, a final degree project will be carried out
