Structure

The Material Science and Engineering program at TU Berlin begins with learning basic principles of mathematics, natural science, and engineering. Through project work, students learn about working methods and approach engineering problems. The technical component includes integrated courses in material science and engineering, seminars, and labs. The program concludes with a scientific bachelor’s thesis.

A proposed course schedule is available for completing the degree program within the standard period of six semesters. While the schedule is a recommendation, it provides an example of which modules to take each semester.

Fees

TU Berlin semester/student fee - the fee is around € 310  and includes public transport in Berlin. The fees do not include such expenses as books, the compulsory German language course (approx. € 100 per semester), stationery, meals, healthcare insurance, visa and accommodation. In case that a field trip should be taking place during the second semester, this will require an own share of a maximum € 200 per student.
