Graduates of our four-year undergraduate program receive the title of "Physiotherapist". Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who play important roles in improving health and quality of life by planning and implementing a treatment approach for pain and dysfunctions caused by injuries, diseases, congenital disabilities, movement system disorders, or other conditions. Physiotherapists involve patients in their treatment through training and awareness and teach people to cope with their problems.

About the Program

Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program was established in 2018 within the Faculty of Health Sciences and started to accept students in the 2018-2019 Academic Year.
Graduates of our four-year undergraduate program receive the title of "Physiotherapist". Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who play important roles in improving health and quality of life by planning and implementing a treatment approach for pain and dysfunctions caused by injuries, diseases, congenital disabilities, movement system disorders or other conditions. Physiotherapists involve patients in their treatment through training and awareness and teach people to cope with their problems.
Our aim is to train graduates who have the skills and competencies of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, as well as the public interest, research and questioning abilities, lifelong learning, and evidence-based application skills.
The undergraduate program in our department consists of courses of 240 ECTS, including common compulsory, compulsory and elective courses. In addition to theoretical training, our students will have practice in our equipped laboratories and contracted hospitals, and they will also have the opportunity to practice what they have learned during summer internships. Exams, assessments,s and grading are carried out in accordance with the conditions specified in the UFU Undergraduate Regulations.
The need for physiotherapists who graduated from the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program is increasing day by day, and the physiotherapy profession develops day by day in parallel with the increasing demand and developing technologies. Physiotherapists who graduate from this program can pursue their careers as healthcare professionals and go on with graduate and post-graduate studies if they wish.
The diplomas of our graduates are registered by both the TRNC and the TR Ministry of Health.
Vision
The physiotherapy and rehabilitation department has been a health department with a high rate of development since the 19th century and the need for national and international employment has been gradually increasing. Our vision is to train idealistic physiotherapists who will serve society in the best scientific way and thus meet the need for employment, without sacrificing quality.
Mission
Our mission is to make continuous progress by renewing itself in accordance with the new developments in the field to train physiotherapists who haven’t memorized knowledge but internalized and practiced it, and who see the profession not only as a title or a means of earning money, but as an activity they will do willingly throughout their lives, and who have adopted the rule of lifelong learning as a lifestyle and adhered to ethical rules and principles.

Program Aim and Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program, our graduates will be able to:

  • Have sufficient, reliable, and up-to-date knowledge in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation;
  • Integrate theoretical knowledge in the field with practical knowledge gained in practice;
  • Apply basic evidence-based theoretical knowledge and skills in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation services;
  • Carry out physiotherapy practices by using the related training, technology, and treatment equipment;
  • Have the ability to make interdisciplinary studies;
  • Contribute to projects and activities for the social environment in which they live with the awareness of social responsibility,
  • Use information resources effectively;
  • Know at least one foreign language to follow the developments in the field;
  • Have written and spoken communication skills in Turkish;
  • Observe the duties, rights, and responsibilities in physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices;
  • Act in accordance with the legislation and professional ethical rules in cooperation with the related disciplines.

Career Opportunities

Graduates who have successfully completed the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program can be employed in many different fields, having the qualifications to fulfill all the duties and responsibilities defined by the physiotherapy and rehabilitation law. In addition to being able to pursue their careers as healthcare professionals, they can also go on with academic studies at a higher level if they wish.

Requirement

A copy of your High School Diploma (O LEVEL & A LEVEL) e.g (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE)

A copy of your International passport Bio-data page.

A copy of your recent Passport Photo.

A valid copy of your Result Checker Card.

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of five (5) credits, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE).

* Fees include scholarship, registration, social activity, and all taxes.

* The Student Permit fee of approx. USD $100, which also includes Annual Health Insurance, is payable directly to the TRNC Ministry of Health.
