Requirement

  1. You have a nationally recognized first cycle degree (Bachelor’s degree) from an accredited institution of higher education.
  2. Your degree corresponds to at least 180 ECTS or three years of full-time study.
  3. Your degree is in a relevant field for the Master’s degree programme.

Application Evaluation:

All applicants meeting general degree requirements and the minimum grade requirement proceed to phase 2 of the selection process.

Phase 2: Selection Criteria

The top 20 applicants with the highest points will be selected based on criteria such as Bachelor’s thesis, previous studies in futures studies, major studies grade, and motivation letter. Missing the motivation letter will result in rejection.

Structure

The Master's Degree Programme in Futures Studies at University of Turku is a 120 ECTS program designed to be completed in two years. The major subject includes compulsory and optional courses in futures studies methodology, strategic foresight, and scenario building. Students can choose a minor subject and optional studies to complement their career goals. All students are expected to study languages (Finnish and English) and general methodological studies.
