Final International University Vocational School was established on 13 March 2018 with the letter and decision numbered 33 / 2006-18. Physiotherapy Associate Degree Program started education and training activities in the 2019-2020 Academic Year.  

Program Aim and Outcomes

Goal

The aim of the First and Emergency Aid Associate Degree Program is to train qualified intermediate staff that is needed by the health sector with 2-year theoretical and practical training and thus facilitate finding employment.

The purpose of the First and Emergency Aid Associate Degree Program is to train auxiliary health staff who can provide professional basic and advanced life support to patients and the injured in pre-hospital emergency services; perform life-saving and preventive medical interventions until the main treatment of the sick and injured; recognize all kinds of system trauma, plan and implement an appropriate emergency treatment; and ensure that patients or the injured who have received first treatment can reach hospitals safely by ambulance.

Mission

Our mission as the First and Emergency Aid Associate Degree Program is to train qualified health staff who are equipped with basic theoretical knowledge and application skills in the field of health, who can use appropriate contemporary technologies effectively, comply with teamwork, be sensitive to individual and social ethical principles, human and patient rights, act with a sense of responsibility, develop the ability to analyze and interpret the acquired knowledge,  be open to lifelong learning and comply with national and international developments in the light of scientific knowledge.

Vision

As the First and Emergency Aid Associate Degree Program, our vision is to be a respected and leading educational institution that can provide sustainable education and training services in the field of health, compete in healthcare education at national and international levels, and train graduates who can carry out international researches and studies in the field of health, have a universal perspective, are knowledgeable and talented to be leaders in the field of health, and are preferred by healthcare institutions.

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates of the First and Emergency Aid Associate Degree Program will be able to:
*Have basic theoretical knowledge and application skills in  the field of First and Emergency Aid provided by the contemporary literature and supported by application equipment and other sources,
*Know how to have access to basic scientific knowledge in the field of First and Emergency Aid, evaluate and apply it within the framework of ethical principles and values,
*Critically interpret and evaluate the data by using the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field of First and Emergency Aid, define and analyze the problems, take part/responsibility in the studies planned for the solution, and be able to perform a given task independently,
*Be able to determine their learning needs and direct their learning, and have the awareness of lifelong learning,
*Have the ability to use information and communication technologies together with computer software at least at the basic level of the European *Computer Driving License required for the field of First and Emergency Aid.
*Have the ability to use basic computer programs and related technologies in the field of First and Emergency Aid,
*Have experience in working with other disciplines of health,
*Contribute to projects and activities for the social environment in which they live with the awareness of social responsibility,
*Follow the events on the agenda of society and the world and be sensitive to the developments in the field of First and Emergency Aid.

Career Opportunities

Since it is an increasingly important and effective profession, there are ample job opportunities. In our country, with the changes made in pre-hospital health services in recent years, there has been an increase in the employment opportunities of the program graduates in 112 Ambulances. There are job opportunities in the government sector or private ambulance companies and private hospital emergency services. Graduates of this department do not have the opportunity to work individually but they can work in private or public institutions. There is a serious need for First and Emergency Aid Technicians in public and private hospitals.


Requirement

A copy of your High School Diploma (O LEVEL & A LEVEL) e.g (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE)

A copy of your International passport Bio-data page.

A copy of your recent Passport Photo.

A valid copy of your Result Checker Card.

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of five (5) credits, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE).

* Fees include scholarship, registration, social activity, and all taxes.

* The Student Permit fee of approx. USD $100, which also includes Annual Health Insurance, is payable directly to the TRNC Ministry of Health.
