The administrative management of the Double Degree will be the responsibility of the Faculty of Economics and Business. However, the administrative procedures linked to a single Degree, such as, for example, the request and issuance of academic certificates and qualifications and the management of grade reports, will be carried out by the Faculty responsible for the Degree in Business Administration and Management or the Degree in Computer Engineering.

Description

It is an “institutional double degree program”, regulated by the Regulations on Double Degrees and Simultaneous Official Teachings of the USAL (Governing Council of 29/2/2012 and Permanent Commission of the Governing Council of 17/10/2017), it was approved by the Governing Council of the USAL on 03/22/2019 and is implemented in the 2019-20 academic year.


This double degree comes from the Degree in Business Administration and Management and the Degree in Computer Engineering and functions as a specific study plan (with a specific pre-registration code and a specific number of places offered annually, 10), consisting of a total of 387 ECTS distributed over 6 academic years, 12 semesters, at a rate of 66 credits in the first year, 60 credits in the second year, 63 credits in the third year, 72 credits in the fourth year, 60 credits in the fifth year and 66 credits in the sixth year.


Students of the Double Degree will join the teaching groups of the respective Degrees. To ensure the compatibility of schedules in each of the semesters of the Double Degree, the study plan has been structured, as far as possible, with an annual rotation , which means that almost every semester the student will carry out his or her studies in one of the Faculties responsible for this qualification.

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of five (5) credits, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE).



Student access : The first year of implementation, a number of 10 new students is proposed for the Double Degree, a number that will be reviewed annually. In accordance with the USAL regulations on Double Degree, the number of students accessing the Degree in Business Administration and Management and the Degree in Computer Engineering is reduced by 5 students each. If the maximum number of places for the Double Degree is not filled, the remaining places will be distributed between the two Degrees and will be included in the general offer. The admission process for the Double Degree in Business Administration and Management and Computer Engineering will be carried out by applying weighting criteria for high school subjects for the University Entrance Exams that will be specific to this double degree.


Access routes to Double Degree courses: these are officially recognised and regulated by law for official degree courses (RD 412/2014). Foreign students may enroll in the Double Degree course in accordance with the provisions of Spanish university regulations in general and those of the University of Salamanca in particular. On the other hand, it will be necessary to have obtained a place through the university pre-registration process.


Admission: There is no specific test for access to this Double Degree. Places within the 10-student quota will be assigned and allocated based on the admission grade.


Registration: The minimum number of ECTS credits per student and academic period is 60, meaning that it can only be taken in the full-time modality . The maximum number of European credits per student and academic period is 90 ECTS. In any case, this maximum limit and other rights affecting registration will be determined by the Regulations on Permanence and the Regulations on Double Degrees and Simultaneity of the USAL.

Curricular External Internships: Students will carry out External Internships in Companies preferably in their sixth year. However, they may do so provided they have completed a minimum of 240 ECTS credits. They may be carried out in either of the two degrees for a total of 12 ECTS credits. In any case, registration for the Internships will be subject to the regulations and administrative procedures established for the Faculty to which the Degree in which the student has chosen belongs.

Structure

This dual degree comes from the BSc in Business Management and Administration and the BSc in Computer Engineering and operates as a specific curriculum (with a specific pre-enrolment code and a specific number of places offered annually, 10). It consists of a total of 387 ECTS distributed over 6 academic years, 12 semesters, with 66 credits in the first year, 60 credits in the second year, 63 credits in the third year, 72 credits in the fourth year, 60 credits in the fifth year and 66 credits in the sixth year.


The Dual Degree students will join the class groups of the respective Bachelor’s Degrees In order to guarantee the timetable compatibility in every semester of the Dual Degree, the study plan has been designed, as far as possible, with an annual rotation, meaning that almost every semester the student will study in one of the Faculties responsible for this degree. The Dual Degree has the following structure:


First year: The students will take the modules of the 1st year of the BSc in Computer Engineering. Additionally, students will take 2 modules of the 1st year of the BSc in Business Management and Administration, one in each semester.

Second year: The students will take the modules of the 2nd year of the BSc in Computer Engineering.

Third year: The students will take the remaining modules of the 1st year and part of the subjects of the 2nd year of the BSc in Business Management and Administration.

Fourth year: The student will take the modules of the 3rd year of the BSc in Computer Engineering. They will also take the remaining modules of the 2nd year of the BSc in Business Management and Administration, two in each semester.

Fifth year: The student will take the modules of the 3rd year of the BSc in Business Management and Administration.

Sixth year: The student will take the modules of the 4th year of the BSc in Computer Engineering, and this is the recommended year to do the Internships at external entities, in one of the two Bachelor’s degrees. Two Undergraduate Dissertations, one for the BSc in Business Administration and Management and another the BSc in Computer Engineering, will also be required.
