About the Program

Dentistry Undergraduate Program was established in 2020 within our Faculty of Dentistry. Dentists graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry will be health professionals who can serve with high quality and use the latest technology. In the Dentistry Program, the aim is to provide and protect oral and dental health, treatment of teeth and gum diseases, dental and jaw surgeries, prosthetic completion of missing teeth, equipped with knowledge, skills, and competencies; taking care of the benefit of society; is to train a “dentist” who is a researcher, questioner, has lifelong learning and evidence-based practice skills, and thus preferred by the health and education world.  Dentists who graduate from this program can continue their careers as health professionals and can pursue higher academic studies if they wish.

Program Aim and Outcomes

Competencies gained by the Dentistry Undergraduate Program:

*Makes the necessary evaluation, definition, and planning for dental practices by using the theoretical, applied concepts and principles related to the field of dentistry.

*Implements the dentistry program systematically and safely within the framework of ethical principles by using the advanced knowledge and skills that are acquired.

*Takes initiatives to protect individual, family, and community health; contributes to the production of health policies suitable for the changing and diversifying needs of society in the field of dentistry.

*Organizes the dental services effectively and adequately, manages the business processes necessary for the continuity and development of the quality and organizational function; produces solutions against problems in line with knowledge and evidence.

*It carries out professional and academic studies independently by using its knowledge and works as a team member and assumes responsibility in effective communication and cooperation with other professional groups working in this field.

*Keeps records and prepares reports for quality service and research in the field of Dentistry; participates in all phases of research and project implementation.

*It adopts personal development, information literacy, and lifelong learning is open to development; It decides and implements effective/fast ways of accessing information, contributes to quality improvement, training, and promotion programs related to the field, and demonstrates its professional behavior at an international level.

*Persons in the dentistry field communicate effectively with institutions and different cultures verbally and in writing.

*As an individual, he/she acts as a role model to his/her colleagues and an example to society with his/her professional identity by acting in accordance with professional ethical rules in the fields of law, regulation, legislation, and education-practice research related to his/her duties, rights and responsibilities
