Phytodesign

Phytodesign is a unique interdisciplinary field that combines the principles of design, horticulture, and ecology. A degree program in Phytodesign focuses on developing creative solutions to environmental challenges by incorporating living plants and natural systems into built environments.

The Phytodesign degree program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in plant biology, design principles, and sustainability practices. Students will learn how to integrate plants into architecture, interior design, urban planning, and landscape design to create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable spaces.

Throughout the program, students will participate in a variety of hands-on activities, such as plant propagation, landscape installation, and plant care. They will also gain practical experience by working on real-world projects that address issues such as stormwater management, air quality improvement, and urban biodiversity conservation.

The program curriculum covers topics such as plant selection, soil science, plant physiology, landscape design, green roof design, and urban agriculture. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as green wall design, biophilic design, or plant-based food production.

Graduates of the Phytodesign degree program will have the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a variety of fields, including landscape architecture, interior design, urban planning, horticulture, and environmental consulting.
