Description
Teacher Education in German is a four-year programme in an international setting that has been taught in English and German since 2016. You will be guided by our experienced lecturers and get to enjoy Utrecht's vibrant student life. You will have frequent and intensive contact with Germany, and do internships at a school from the first year onwards. Teaming up with your fellow students, you will plan your own excursion to Berlin in your third year of study.
With your knowledge about teaching methodology, literature, and culture of the German-speaking countries, linguistics, and second language acquisition you will work towards a rewarding career teaching German as a foreign language in Dutch secondary education, or at vocational or language schools.
Requirement
Dutch nationals need a relevant Dutch high school diploma, with German as an exam subject. If you have graduated Dutch vocational school (MBO) or are an international student, additional requirements may apply. Non-native German speakers need to produce a Goethe Zertifikat, level B1. All students need to be able to study in English, with a proven CEFR level of at least B1.
The Admission Office needs a copy of your diploma and transcript for the official diploma evaluation. You have to pass an English language test and an interview may be part of your admission procedure.
