Frequently asked questions

Confirmation and Registration. The school requires that the reservation fee or full payment of fees for the course/program be paid to the school’s bank account along with the Registration Form (in the case of students requiring an entry visa to Spain to study, the fees must be paid in full along with the Registration Form). Afterwards, the school will review the registration form, check the deposit/booking/partial payment/full payment and confirm the course/reservation and pre- registration with the student. Once pre-registration is confirmed by the school, such registration or pre-registration will be effective enrollment, provided that the student pays the full amount of the course/program within a specified time. The school reserves the right to cancel the student’s enrollment, if the school does not receive the full payment for the course/program within the specified time, without further agreement. The potential students must understand that in cases where students require an entry visa to Spain in order to study, pre-registration does not guarantee a place until their request is accompanied by a consecutive full payment, for which they must provide a receipt as proof.

Documents for the Spanish student visa type D Depending on the consulate of your country or state, the list of the documents can be slightly different. Check the information on the website of a Spanish embassy in your state or email us at info@bcnlip.com if you are going to apply in Spain.

Here are the documents that are obligatory: Letter of acceptance as a full time student from the Spanish University/School Health insurance Proof of financial means during your stay Criminal Background Check from the country you’ve lived in the past five years (FBI for the US) Medical certificate Current passport Application form Photo Accommodation confirmation (not for all countries) Accommodation confirmation Not all countries require this document. For example, the USA doesn´t need any confirmation, while Australia and Canada do need it. The standard pack of documents includes a rental contract for the whole period of studies, a document called Nota Simple (ask the owner of the apartment, they know), and the owner´s DNI. A simple invitation letter may not be enough, and an Airbnb booking is usually not valid for visa purposes. BCNLIP can provide you with all the necessary documents to confirm the accommodation; please contact the institution if you need them. What is proof of financial means? For a 12-month course, you should have around €8000 in your personal bank account. If your course is shorter, multiply €600 by the number of months you will be studying. For 7 months, you will need 600 x 7 = approximately €4500. Another option is a pack of sponsorship documents from your parents. In this case, your parents will also have to prove that they are able to support themselves and you and provide a birth certificate, statutory declaration, bank statement, and legalized copy of their passport. Only a parent or a legal guardian can be a sponsor; brothers, sisters, spouses, and other relatives cannot be your sponsor.

The minimum age for students is 16 years, except in our special junior programs. Students under 18 must present an authorization signed by their parents. The school is not responsible for the custody of underage students, or providing any assistance during their stay in Spain.
