Admission Criteria: EPFL Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, or from another institution with an excellent academic record. Anyone holding a Bachelor’s degree in a related field can apply, but admission is competitive.

Structure

Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology program at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne spans over three years. The first year focuses on chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, and physics. In the subsequent years, students delve into organic reactions, physical chemistry, coordination chemistry, and analytic methods. The final year offers optional modules to deepen knowledge in synthesis, biochemistry, modeling, and chemical engineering, preparing students for their chosen Master’s program. Practical work is emphasized with weekly laboratory sessions or projects.

*The application form must be validated and paid for on March 31st at the latest. Application after that deadline is not possible.

*Although tuition fees are reasonable at EPFL, the cost of living is high in Switzerland. It is important to establish a budget for the entire duration of your studies: plan for approximately 30'000.- CHF per year to cover your expenses.
