Description
The knowledge and skills that the graduates of the "Pharmacology and Toxicology" master's degree will accumulate will strengthen their competence in the relationship with doctors to assess the state of health and, above all, will provide a solid basis for identifying possible prescription errors determined by some drug interactions , prevention and effective management of possible drug poisoning. In the field of prophylaxis, they will have the ability to correctly assess the risk of illness or appreciate the context of the occurrence of individual and collective illnesses, as well as to select and apply the best methods of health assessment and preventive measures. Health problems will be able to be addressed in the context of the particularities of the community, in direct relation to the social, economic and cultural conditions specific to the community.
The mission and objectives of the master's field express the essential elements specific to the programs included in it. The master's study programs in the field of Pharmacy developed at the UMFCV Faculty of Pharmacy have the following attributes:
Master's study program in Pharmacology and Toxicology:
▪ Master's field: Pharmacy
▪ Form of education: with frequency
▪ Duration of studies: 1 year
▪ Diploma awarded: Specialist in pharmacotoxicology, Master.
Requirement
Candidates must be Romanian citizens or of one of the EU or EEA member states and hold a bachelor's degree issued by a higher education institution in the following specializations: biochemistry, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, clinical laboratory assistance and general medicine ( who carry out their activity in the clinical laboratory), medical physics.
Registration of candidates
Registration will consist of submitting a file containing the following:
baccalaureate diploma - original;
bachelor's degree and transcript - original;
birth certificate - legalized copy;
the marriage certificate or other documents on the basis of which a possible name change took place - legalized copy (if applicable);
copy of the identity card / identity card;
receipt proving payment of the registration fee;
application for registration (typed what can be obtained from the secretariat for registrations);
· the certificate certifying the completion of another master's degree in the budget/fee form (if applicable);
· college graduation certificate in the budget/fee form specifying the number of years graduated and in which form;
an updated Curriculum vitae;
recommendation from the last place of activity (if applicable).
Structure
The need to train specialists in the field of Safety Science (pharmacology, clinical and preclinical toxicology, genomics, physiology, physiopathology, chemistry-physics, cellular biology, biochemistry, animal physiology, etc.), in accordance with the directions specified in Chapter V, "Education and Training" (E&T), within the Platform "Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI): Creating Biomedical R&D Leadership for Europe to Benefit Patients and Society" (EU Strategic Research Agendas);
▪ pharmaceutical and medical research in Romania is based mostly on clinical studies and less on investments in the creation of new drugs, a fact that requires specialists with interdisciplinary training in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology
