The graduate in the degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies will understand how to combine the spirit of innovation and advancement of knowledge with an academic and humanistic vocation which promotes reflection on the human condition in time and space, and will demonstrate the capacity to think clearly, imaginatively and critically
The general aims of the Degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies include:
To provide students with linguistic skills in Arabic and a specific understanding of Arabic and Islamic society (literature, religion, geography, history and human reality, institutions, daily life, etc.).
To provide students with a satisfactory knowledge of a second language from Arabic and Islamic civilisation.
To provide students with a practical knowledge of a European language and culture.
To provide students with the techniques, tools and skills necessary to apply their linguistic and cultural knowledge in the different fields for which the qualification prepares them.
To train students in the use of the new information and knowledge management technologies as applied to Arabic and Islamic studies.
In conclusion, to train flexible professionals, with a wide range of proficiencies related to the functions and intercultural understanding required by contemporary society.
Requirement
A copy of your High School Diploma (O LEVEL & A LEVEL) e.g (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE)
A copy of your International passport Bio-data page.
A copy of your recent Passport Photo.
A valid copy of your Result Checker Card.
All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of five (5) credits, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE).
In order to be admitted to these studies, new students must have basic humanistic training, as well as a good disposition towards Arab and Muslim literature and culture, as well as for critical reasoning.
