Description

The Degree in Information and Documentation (BOE 12/11/2009) began to be taught at the Faculty of Translation and Documentation, in the 2008-09 academic year, replacing the Diploma in Library Science and Documentation and the Bachelor's Degree in Documentation (2nd cycle). This Degree has renewed its accreditation in 2015 and in 2021.


This degree is included in the branch of Social and Legal Sciences and seeks to respond to the growing demand for professionals in the field of management, treatment, conservation and dissemination of information and documents. Graduates in Information and Documentation will be professionals capable of integrating into information services and systems of all kinds, and will help these organizations provide better services, quantitatively and qualitatively.


The training provided in the Degree includes subjects aimed at mastering information and communication technologies as well as others linked to disciplinary fields such as Law, Sociology and Languages.


The training is completed with compulsory professional internships in the final year and optional extracurricular internships from the end of the second year, which allow students to have the opportunity to come into contact with the work environment before graduating.


In addition, a free annual Documentation Updating and Specialization Program (PAYED) is offered , aimed at the professional development of both students and graduates.


In the 2011-12 academic year, once the favourable report from ACSUCyL has been received, the Adaptation Course for the Degree in Information and Documentation will begin to be taught, so that the Diploma holders in Library Science and Documentation, who graduated from the previous ordination, will obtain, after passing it, the title of Graduate in Information and Documentation. Since 2016-2017, no new places have been offered for enrolment in this Adaptation Course.

A valid copy of your Result Checker Card.

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of five (5) credits, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE).



To enroll in this Degree, there are no special conditions or tests other than the general ones established by the basic state regulations.
