Established in 1960, the University of Twente (UT) is a research university ranked within the top 300 among the world’s 18,000 universities. UT boasts more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and more than 47,000 alumni living all over the world.
Interdisciplinary approach
University of Twente’s unique interdisciplinary approach, combining technology and engineering with behavioural and social sciences, prepares students for working in teams and creating solutions that people, and society really need.
Student-driven education
The University of Twente offers highly personal education, applying student-driven learning and project-based teamwork to foster synergy, (self-)discovery and out of the box problem-solving. Learning takes place in state-of-the-art facilities, such as the world-renowned NanoLab, newly formed Designlab and a new TechMed Centre.
Way of teaching
The Twente Education Model empathizes project-led education. Each module in Twente’s 3-year bachelor programme has one central theme with a variety of learning activities: lectures, workshops and feedback sessions with fellow students. The centre piece of each module is a team project which, working with other students, addresses a real-world problem.
All-in-one campus
The UT is the only all-in-one campus university in the Netherlands. The University offers a variety of on campus services, including a medical centre, counselling facilities, a hotel, sport and cultural facilities and much more. Students can buy meals at the campus supermarket or simply hang-out at the on-campus restaurants, cafés or bars.
