The Machinist qualification at VAMIA involves full-time studies and practical training periods. Classes are held during the daytime (Monday-Friday) with a duration of approximately 3 years. The curriculum comprises four study periods per school year, with on-the-job learning in the second and third year spring. The school observes holiday breaks and emphasizes workplace education and training in the third year.
